More photos up!
It’s been a while since my last post… been pretty much busy with work and a bunch of other things. Thankfully, I got some time to de-stress when Shu and I went on a photoshooting trip last Saturday night in the city. Shu got to try out his new rangefinder camera and I got a bit of practice trying to produce some panoramic scenes.
On a related note, I bought the tank lens. This 1.6kg beast is built like a tank and feels like a tank. It takes superb quality photos in low light thanks to its 3-stop IS to help against camera shake, and also because it’s pretty damn fast at f/2.8. Now, it’s time to start saving again and give my poor wallet some time to recover…

Bring out the heavy artillery!
Interesting, I too went on a photo snapping trip on Saturday, but I think I was out much later than you guys.
I need to buy a tripod… I only got 1 decent night shot without it.
I find I can often still get good night shots without my tripod by resting the camera on something, and using a timer mode shot.
Here’s one I took in Dubrovnik. It’s not composed so well, but there was no shaking.
Not as good as an external trigger, but almost every camera has a timer.
Unfortunately objects to rest the camera on are never where you need them (blame it on Murphy)… so I think it’s still a good idea to get a tripod
Oh yeah, my camera doesn’t have a timer either.
