		<description>Unfortunately objects to rest the camera on are never where you need them (blame it on Murphy)... so I think it's still a good idea to get a tripod :)

		<description>I find I can often still get good night shots without my tripod by resting the camera on something, and using a timer mode shot.

Here's one I took in &lt;a href="http://www.mattryall.net/travel/album.cgi?album=dubrovnik&#38;pos=5" rel="nofollow"&gt;Dubrovnik&lt;/a&gt;. It's not composed so well, but there was no shaking.

Not as good as an external trigger, but almost every camera has a timer.</description>
