Pianos and weather

Over the past week or so, the temperature in Sydney fluctuated quite a bit with some days being rather oppressively hot, and then suddenly you get hit with a cold chill. Now, the mercury looks like its on the rise again.

All of this is not doing my piano much good.

Since I haven’t tinkled the ivories for quite some time, I thought it might be a good idea to jump on the keys and nut out some Mozart. As soon as the first bar or so came out, I stopped playing and gave up.

The piano was out of tune.

Now I’m going to have to figure out how I’m going to tune it. I could hire someone to come and do it, but that doesn’t seem as fun as doing it yourself. Too bad I don’t have those rubber wedges and tuning arm things…

It’s easy. Just tighten each string until you hear feedback and repeat for all strings…

    Oh wait… wrong machine…
