Food Review: La Botte
As you can see, I’m catching up with my food reviews! La Botte is a restaurant that Keith and I go to often that I haven’t blogged about so I thought I might share it with you all this time. It’s in Carlingford next to Bunnings, so nice and close by. I thought since Keith and I go to it often, it might be a good restaurant to share with you all.
La Botte is a Italian family restaurant, which is what I love about it - because there is such a wide age range of people there - lots of families, quite a few old couples, some young couples like us, young families, parents with mature age children - all meeting together over a large meal and doing life together. It’s usually loud in there (but not loud like going to yum cha), but not so much on week day nights.
Every time we go there, there is usually at least one group of 10+ people with a mix of children, parents and grandparents, or another table with some sort of celebration (likely a birthday party) going on. The children might have their own table, and the adults their own as well. It kind of reminds of going to a pizza hut restaurant when I was young.
This is the kind of atmosphere I am talking about that keeps drawing me back to La Botte. Foodwise - it’s also got heaps of pasta and pizza choices and lots of yummy cakes for dessert (like blueberry cheesecake…mmm yum!). I thought the meatlovers pizza was particularly good, and the amatriciana pasta was tasty too. I didn’t like the avocado and salmon pasta as much - the pasta wasn’t salty enough and the salmon was too salty.
Prices are pretty standard, and you can get entree or main course sizes for the pasta and pizza. Service is okay - it’s pretty fast and they come back to ask you how you found the food sometimes.
So if you’re looking for a reliable family restaurant with some good atmosphere, try La Botte. It’s also the restaurant we go to during each other’s birthdays or Valentines Day if we can’t be bothered going to a fancy ‘gold’ restaurant from the book…:p
Note: the Iced Chocolate was ‘okay’ there according to Keith…(3.5/5)
