Food Review: Zowa
Zowa is a casusal Korean restaurant in World Square. It features a wide variety of omelette rice dishes (omu rice), ramen type dishes, baked dishes (e.g. seafood, pork chops), plus entrees, desserts and a variety of drinks.
Both times I’ve been there, it’s been moderately filled with Asian young adults sitting in those large, comfortable individual chairs that you get if you’re not sitting on the comfy seats against the wall. On one side of the wall, you have 3 large flat TV screens, each showing something different - usually a concert of some sort or a film. If you’re sitting facing those screens, beware of getting distracted by the JT concert while talking to your friend :p
The tables are well equipped with the different sauces you could possibly desire for your meal. There’s this red pepper type thing that you can sprinkle on your food which I personally like. I also liked the ‘homemade lemonade’ that they have on offer too.
Service is generally pretty fast - unless you order something baked; and the food is well presented, delicious and filling. Prices are generally towards $15+ for a main since you’re looking at a sit down kind of cafe meal, so it can be a bit dear…
But visit it sometime, especially if you work around World Square…
