I didn’t go house hunting on Saturday… decided to go through my entire 17 GB backlog of photos in one huge sitting and do the whole cull/post-process thing. After many hours of gimping, and several thousand photos later, I emerged relatively unscathed with the following galleries:
Grace and Chris’ Wedding
MKC 2008
Melbourne Trip
CCC Combined Houseparty 2008
Susie’s Graduation
City B&W Night Shoot
Joyce’s M Clin Psych Graduation
Peter and Winnie’s Wedding
Muso Retreat 2008
James and Bertie’s Wedding
RICE Regenerate 2008
RICE Rally 2008
Engage 2008
KT and Erica’s Wedding
At around 9:30am this morning, a company-wide announcement was made regarding my departure from CiSRA. (Oh, you were thinking of something else being official? Sorry to disappoint…)
I mentioned in my previous post that one of my aims in 2008 is to “tie up loose ends, and finalise things”, so I’m now at a stage where I’m wrapping up my work here at CiSRA. It’s been a fun 3.5 years here — great working environment, great people, and I get to play with cool stuff
However, I feel that it’s time for me to take on new challenges. As such, I’ve taken up an offer to work at another software company in the CBD.
In the spirit of tying up loose ends, I’ve also finally put up some photos that I took in 2007. You’ll find nine new albums all in the gallery.
Apparently, according to some people, I don’t blog enough.
I guess I just don’t have as much spare time as I used to — planning for the CCC music team 08, meeting up with people, spending time with Joyce, work-related matters, other stuff…
Anyway, I’m just going to dig up a half-baked blog entry that I started about six months ago but never got around to finishing. Since one of my aims in 2008 (as opposed to new year’s resolutions) is to tie up loose ends and finalise things, this is somewhat fitting.
Note: if you don’t get some of these comments, don’t worry. However, you photogs out there who read this will probably have a good laugh.

Life has been busy for me lately — lots of stuff to do, things to plan for, people to meet up with, etc. It’s times like this that I go into my thinking phase where I muse about any random thing that pops up in my noodle.
As a result, I’ve got a whole bunch of half-baked blog posts that I’m still in the middle of writing. I’ll finish them off when I have a bit more time…
Anyway, for all you serious photographers out there, a bunch of new toys have recently been introduced for you to drool over:
- Canon have upgraded their 30D and 1D-series cameras to the 40D, 1D Mark III and 1Ds Mark III respectively.
- Nikon have announced their D300 and D3 bodies to compete with Canon’s current dominance in the dSLR market.
- Olympus have decided to join in on the party with their recent announcement of the E-3.
This is all good news for anybody who is planning on entering the dSLR camp.

I’m still in the process of clearing my backlog of photos — there’s now roughly about a month’s worth of photos left to sift through. I wouldn’t hold my breath waiting for them though… I come home from work and all I feel like doing is to just zombie out and recharge.
Maybe I’ll do something mindless that doesn’t require much thinking, like watching a movie, or just even staring into space…
Anyway, I’ve updated the gallery. Click here and here to go to the two new albums directly.
I’ve snuck up a few albums in our photo gallery now that I’ve finally stopped procrastinating and started processing my backlog of photos…
Still got some more photos coming from recent shoots… stay tuned.
Currently suffering from Monday Morning Syndrome. So, instead of utilising copious amounts of unavailable brain-juice trying to write something, I’m just going to plagiarise my album description.
I was waiting for a dinner at King St wharf and so I walked around the CBD to get a bit of late night shopping atmosphere.
Since I don’t work in the city, I found all the hustle and bustle quite different to boring North Ryde. Everybody seemed to be absorbed in their own little world as they ploughed their way from point A to B. I doubt many would have even noticed me camping at busy intersections trying to get some shots of the hectic shopping night life.
The word “automaton” comes to mind…
Anyway, I wish I had a tripod that night… but I didn’t. Oh well.

I was doing a bit of cleaning up around my room this morning and I stumbled upon my good ol’ Sony Cybershot DSC-P9 gathering dust in the bottom corner of my wardrobe.
Ah, the memories… my first ever digital camera. And to think that I paid almost HK$5000 for the camera + accessories (worked out to be around $1000 at the time) when it first came out in 2002…
I guess it has served me quite well – lasting till July 2005, when I bought the Canon Powershot S2 IS. I then bought the EOS 30D in August last year.
Since then, I’ve spent like a further $3k+ on more equipment… which is kinda depressing if you think about it too much (I try not to).
It’s pretty scary how fast technology changes…
I’ve put up a few photos from Sean and Eva’s wedding ceremony up in the gallery.
You can go straight to the album by clicking here.
Lot’s of stuff to do at work and I’ve just been generally busy, busy, busy. I don’t seem to spend much time online now… (wah! I don’t believe…)
This will most likely change after my trip to HK, and prepping for some workshops at church, but until then I’ll prob be fairly flat out.
Anyway, after a “robust discussion” with some people, I just want to briefly share a bit about my thoughts on the use of UV filters.
