Your comment is soooo funny because I've thought of EXACTLY that same thing for wedding seating arrangement. I thought about assigning weights, etc. I've thought about doing it for my wedding but never got around to it. I was thinking about whether or not something like this would be possible to sell commercially. In the end, the more I thought about it, the more impractical it seems to have such a system. Hardly anyone would want to fill in all the information needed to come up with an appropriate weight. And in the end, we would be happy with a sub-optimal result if it means that we don't have to waste time filling in all the relationship information. :) btw. That said, she did mention that the current owners of the property have been very hard to get along with. Hmmm...
