TC seminar handouts
These are two seminars I did in January 2007 for TeenSS Church.
The first [download] is on song leading and includes:
- an explanation of the types of song we sing at church
- a timeline for how to go about song leading at TC
- some practical tips on how to do it well
- A full example of how to song lead in a service
- and a blank guideline on song leading in service
The second seminar is on music [download]. It includes:
- Some Old Testament verses that talk about music
- The role of music in the New testament church
- How this affects how we do music at church
- A basic timeline for doing music at TC
- Practical tips on how each instrument can do it well
- Two examples of breaking down a song and analysing the different band instruments and what they’re doing.
This second seminar was rather speedily written, so if something doesn’t seem logical or make sense, let me know and I’ll explain it. Some of the material was borrowed from a seminar that Phillip Percival did for CCC several years back. I figure he can probably do a good job at explaining things.
